What’s New:
Google Drive support has been partially restored (subject to the limitations described below). This uses a new feature in the Google Drive app that allows other apps to select a folder to view its contents (including subfolders).
Navigate to the “Google Drive” folder in the “Library” tab and select the root folder(s) containing your Google Drive media files using the System Folder Picker (SAF).
IMPORTANT: Due to technical limitations of the Google Drive app, media file playback does not start immediately: the file must be fully cached (downloaded) to local storage before playing in BubbleUPnP. It is strongly recommended to increase the cache size to the maximum (1000 MB) in the Google Drive app settings.
This usually does not cause problems with music and images (provided the internet connection is fast enough). However, video loading can take a long time, so playing videos from Google Drive is not very convenient (unless the files are small).
Once the media file has been played (even partially), subsequent playback should be fairly quick.
Additionally, automatic metadata extraction has been disabled to improve performance. This feature can be launched manually by clicking the menu icon (three dots) next to an item or folder and selecting Extract Metadata.
Fixes and Improvements
• Added the Play / Pause action to the More > Settings > Now Playing > Cover art tap action and Cover art long press action settings.
• Updated FFmpeg dependencies to newer versions and added support for the AV1 codec.
• Fixed an issue with connecting to BubbleUPnP Server version 0.9-update51 over HTTPS.
• Fixed a bug in the Library > Folders section that prevented the selection of folders other than those in the default document provider (local storage). You can now select any folders accessible via SAF and managed by third-party applications (e.g. NTFS Follow us on Telegramer).
• Fixed display of the selected folder name for mount points, downloads directory, and BubbleUPnP Server cache directory if they do not point to local storage.
• Fixed an issue with exporting the “Recently Played” playlist to m3u8 or XSPF formats (files are saved as recent.m3u8 or recent.xspf).
• Fixed the description field being partially duplicated in the Gerbera item metadata dialog.
• Fixed showing “Default” instead of “Material You” as the first option in the “Theme” setting for all languages except English on Android 12 and newer.
• Found a solution for the issue with automatic scrolling of the top bar in Android 17 QPR1 and QPR2 betas.
• Minor improvements have been made to the local OpenHome renderer (in terms of displaying elapsed and total time).
• Some libraries used to build the application have been updated.
