Windows 10 Reboot Blocker – is a tiny app whose purpose is to prevent Windows 10 from automatically restarting the computer after getting the latest system updates from Microsoft. It works as a service and only if you have the Windows 10 with Anniversary Update (Version 1607).
Prevent Windows 10 with Anniversary Update from rebooting the PC after installing updates
To check if your operating system meets the requirement, you can use the Run tool (Win+R) with “winver”, a command which brings up the “About Windows” panel where you can view the Windows version.
Luckily, this OS update comes with a feature that gives you the possibility to restrict Windows’ behavior and allow it to restart only within the hours you find convenient. You can control this from the “Change active hours” option of the Windows Update settings panel. However, the time slot cannot be over 12 hours.
Windows 10 Reboot Blocker solves a simple issue that most Windows 10 users find annoying: stopping automatic computer restarts after installing the latest system updates. There are no configuration settings involved aside from the optional ones which apply to all services, so casual users with no computer experience can install this tool without any trouble. It had minimal impact on the computer’s performance in our tests.
